  • Our Designs

The importance of great designs at a price anyone can afford.

  • Our Team

The most important thing to us is having staff that are happy and passionate about where they work and the product they work with. Our employees at Opulize are precise and care about what they do, in return we care about them.

  • Our Family

It is more than just a business to all of us, it is a family. From the manufacturers, who we call our friends, through to the pick and pack teams, we are so blessed to have such an incredible group of people around us. With our vision aligned, together we are able to achieve our goals.

  • How it started

Opulize was founded in 2012 when founders Jo & Andy Landesberg began noticing their perfect vision was not so perfect anymore. Having previously been successful in multiple entrepreneurial ventures, such as bringing karaoke to the UK, the husband and wife duo were on the hunt for their next break through project.

  • Affordable Vision

The UK had just started to work its way out of the recession, which lead them to look for something that was affordable and sellable to the masses. After shopping in a department store, Jo came across a pair of “sunreading” glasses. She was convinced sunreaders could be the next best thing.

  • The first product

Combining Andy’s expert knowledge in sourcing product and Jo’s entrepreneurial vision, they decided to enter into the world of glasses, an area in which they both knew little about.

The first product concept in the range was a Twin Pack, which consisted of a reader and a sunreader. Although the plan seemed to be logical, unfortunately their attempt to sell to chemists, garden centres and large retailers failed.

  • All the family are involved

Finally, the couple decided to put an ad in the Daily Express and suddenly sales started to grow. Jo, Andy and even their children began packing and shipping off orders right from their kitchen table. This was a proper family run business.

  • That's sweet advice

Eventually the orders became unmanageable and the Company outgrew the “home office”. The duo then took out a small storage unit and office. Being the character Jo is, she started chatting away with the man in the next storage unit, who sold sweets on Amazon & Ebay. “Mr Sweets” then advised Jo & Andy on how to take their glasses business online. They then re-launched the range under the brand “The Reading Glasses Company” which eventually became “Opulize”

  • Where we are now

12 years of organic growth has led to a hugely successful brand, employing many staff at Opulize's headquarters. We sell millions of glasses around the world and the growth continues week by week.
